Q + A
WHERE IS APALACHICOLA FLORIDA?
Apalachicola, also known as the Oyster Capital of the World, is about an hour away from Panama City Florida. It is a beautiful small historic town that depicts the true nature of Old Florida. Lots of oak trees with spanish moss and little quaint stores that hug the Apalachicola Bay coastline. You'll see lots of shrimp boats bringing in the nightly fresh catch and locals diving for scallops to fry in their cast iron pans.
We just know you'll enjoy this sleepy wonder of a town.
WHERE DO WE STAY FOR THE WEDDING?
Please look at the "Travel" tab for details and contact information. The wedding party and family will be staying at The Gibson. We hope to see everyone there, but please book quickly as they have limited space. Don't forget to ask for the Roush Wedding rate.
If you are unable to join us at The Gibson, we have posted three other options that are very close by (the first two are less than a block away).
Please feel free to check out other options on Airbnb and VRBO.
WHERE SHOULD WE FLY INTO?
There are three options for airports.
1. Panama City Beach Airport (ECP) - About an hour away
2. Tallahassee Airport (TLH) - About an hour away
3. Destin Airport (VPS) - About two hours away
WHAT IS THE WEDDING ATTIRE?
This is a Black Tie Affair.
So please put on your most fancy elegant attire to show off on the dance floor.
WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO ONCE WE ARRIVE?
Please check in to your accommodation and relax.
Anyone staying at The Gibson will be given an itinerary of where the Bride and Groom will be throughout the stay.
Everybody is invited to ALL events.
Please join us for anything on the itinerary. We would love to spend time with everyone while we enjoy the beautiful weekend.
If you do not receive an itinerary, please let us know and we will ensure one is emailed to you.
Are their Alligators?
Long story short, YES, this is the Florida.
But don't worry, we got you covered!
Growing up in Florida everyone is taught at a young age on How to Run from an Alligator.
We call it, the Zig Zag. Should you encounter an Alligator, run in a Zig Zag motion. They are fast, but they cannot make quick directional changes too close together.
Word has it, winner of the best Zig Zag run lives to make it another day.
Whatever technique works for you, just don't miss the wedding.
